On Friday, Glen Dale Elementary School welcomed Dr. Jen Fox, licensed acupuncturist and owner of Healing Points Acupuncture, for an engaging educational presentation about the benefits of acupressure to the 4th grade classes.

The goal of this event was to help students explore safe, simple techniques that support the connection between the brain and body. Dr. Fox demonstrated how acupressure can serve as a first step in calming the mind, improving focus, and encouraging healthy self-help practices that students can carry with them throughout the school day.

“As an acupuncturist, I believe it’s important to show children that they already have natural tools within themselves to feel calmer, more focused, and better prepared to learn,” explained Dr. Fox. “By teaching these skills early, we can help build resilience and give students confidence in their own ability to support their well-being.”

This lesson also enhanced the school’s ongoing effort to provide students with tools that promote wellness and lifelong learning, this program was designed to give students an introduction to safe and natural wellness practices that encourage them to explore healthy tools that may be used alongside other supportive strategies.

Dr. Fox regularly partners with schools and community organizations to bring accessible health education programs to children and families. For more information about Dr. Fox and Healing Points Acupuncture, visit HealingPointsAcu.com.
